For me and my family some of us are named after ancestors, I was named after my father's sister that passed when she was only 6. My brothers' and one sister's middle names are from ancestors as well. The other naming tradition in our family is that one sister and myself got contractions of ancestral names as middle names. Mine is the first two letters of my mother's and father's names and then feminized and my sisters is the first three letters of both my mother's mother and mother's step mother.
