This is today's question.

  • Did anyone in your family serve in World War II?
  • By that I mean, was anyone in your family active in the war?
  • If so, how does their being active impacted you personally?
  • What Branch of the service were they in?

You can write down as much as possible about these family members that you can find. If there are photos in their uniforms or draft cards, enlistment records or ship manifests showing they went over seas. All of this is great information to pass down.

For me my Uncle Jim on my dad's side enlisted in the Army about this time, I found photos of him in his uniform and ship manifests showing that he came back from Germany. I don't have all of the particulars because he moved to Texas when he came back and we didn't see much of that side of the family. But it might be interesting to contact my cousins to see if they have more information. I'm sure that they do since he retired from the army. There is probably a lot of information that they can share.

Here's the form to fill in for today's question.
